The Young and the Restless alum Jason Canela had a relatively short run in Genoa City as Arturo, but he is remembered for being a member of the tight-knit Rosales clan.
Now, the actor has some real-life happy family news to share as he and his wife, Jana, have welcomed their second child!

Jovani Canela was born on April 20, at 5:57 a.m., and he measured 21 inches and weighed 8 lbs. and 7.1 ounces.
“That miraculous feeling is back, and it’s more powerful than ever,” Canela posted on Instagram. “Thank you @janaarc [my wife] for being so incredibly strong and for giving our [son] Jovani the most beautiful and fastest welcome into this world #IYKYK

“Seeing you as a mother of two, devoted and fierce, is my greatest pride,” the actor continued. “To our family and friends, thank you for the endless love as we grow. Jovie Rose [our daughter] has a best friend for life, and I have another soul to protect and love forever.
“To my baby boy: I promise to always be there for you, just like I am for your big sister and your smoking hot mother. All glory to God,” Canela concluded.
Canela was equally eloquent when he posted on Instagram the news of Jovie Rose’s birth a little over three years ago. “Words cannot describe this feeling,” the actor wrote on social media.
“Thank you @janaarc for being so divinely strong, watching you give birth to our Jovie Rose just the way we envisioned was nothing short of a miraculous blessing,” the actor shared, “
thank you to all of our friends and family that have showered us with so much love these last 9 months. I can’t wait to just be there for every single moment of my baby girl’s life, thank you God for it all!”

Canela played the role of Eddie, a former tennis pro turned socialite, on Palm Royale, which co-stars Julia Duffy (Newhart) as Mary. The actress posted, “Congrats to a beautiful family!” Duffy shares a Y&R connection with Canela, too. In real-life, she’s married to Jerry Lacy (ex-Jonas; ex-Reverend Trask, Dark Shadows).
During Canela’s run as Arturo, he shared screentime with Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), Melissa Ordway (Abby), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas), Vilasuso, and Noemi Gonzalez (ex-Mia). C
anela was on Y&R for a little over a year from 2018 to 2019. He reprised his role as Arturo in late 2020 for Rey and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) New Year’s Eve wedding. Arturo not only returned to Genoa City for his brother’s nuptials, but he also officiated the ceremony.
