The Johnston family from TLCâs 7 Little Johnstons deals with a sad loss at the moment. This weekend, the news arrived on social media that Trent Johnstonâs mom, Mary Alice Maddox Johnston, affectionately known as âNanaâ to the family, has passed away.
The Sad News
The sad news arrived on Emma Johnstonâs Instagram on Saturday, and she shared a tender moment. In her reel, she was painting her grandmaâs nails. At the time, it looked like Nana wasnât well as she lay in what appeared to be a hospital bed, so it seems her passing wasnât entirely unexpected.
In her caption, Emma Johnston wrote: Our Nana is in heaven with Poppy, watching over all of us. We love you, and I miss you.
7 Little Johnstons fans had met Nana on the TLC show, and she seemed well-loved and very sweet with her grandkids. So, fans put aside their issues with the often dramatic family to send in their condolences.

Poppy Also Passed Away
If you watch 7 Little Johnstons, youâve probably already heard that Trentâs father, âPoppy,â also passed away. His full name was Walter âPeteâ Lawrence Johnston, but the family always called him by his nickname.
That sad news arrived in March of this year. Folks felt really bad for Trent, who clearly adored his dad. Meanwhile, the kids also seemed very close to him.
