Joseph Duggar reportedly played a hand in his own arrest — by confessing.
People obtained a new affidavit from Joseph’s case. As you know, the reality TV star was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior after he allegedly molested a 9-year-old back in 2020.
Following his arrest, his wife Kendra was also taken into custody for what was reportedly a separate crime, but was later released after gaining child endangerment charges of her own.
Joseph, however, is still behind bars. And the reason for that might come as a shock, as this affidavit reports he willingly admitted to his crimes.
Per the Bay County Sheriff’s Office report, on March 17, Joseph confessed what happened to the child’s father. The next day, the child themselves sat down with the Tontitown Police Department and “described several incidents of sexual abuse”.
After the child told their story, the PD reportedly “requested the detective and victim’s father call Joseph” and ask about it. According to the filings, the detective and father did just that. And that’s when Joseph gave it all up.
The Counting On star allegedly “admitted his actions, stating he touched the victim over her clothing” going as far as to say his “intentions were not pure”. OMG… How awful. That must’ve been so hard for the poor father to hear.
This story in the affidavit was singed off on by a judge, which then led to the warrant for his arrest. Joseph was arrested just hours later.
