Taylor Frankie Paul’s ex, Dakota Mortensen, has broken his silence on their alleged domestic violence dispute

TAYLOR Frankie Paul’s ex, Dakota Mortensen, has broken his silence after accusing The Bachelorette star of domestic violence and calling the police after an alleged altercation.

The alleged incident is currently under investigation by law enforcement and production for their Hulu series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been halted, according to The U.S. Sun, which exclusively reported about the 911 call.

After Taylor dodged questions about the alleged dispute on Good Morning America, Wednesday morning while promoting the upcoming premiere of Season 22 of The Bachelorette, Dakota shared a statement through his rep.

“[Dakota’s] number one priority here is protecting [their 2-year-old son], Ever,” the rep for Taylor’s baby daddy told Entertainment Weekly and denied that Dakota was the reason the alleged dispute went public.

“He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor.

“It’s been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent well.”

The rep also claimed that Dakota hoped the situation would “go away” if he stayed quiet regarding the alleged abuse.

“He was just hoping that if he says nothing, as he usually does, it would go away. He’s never done any kind of sit-down interview about his side.”

They added, “He kind of just lets it all happen to him, and I think he realizes with the severity of everything now that he just can’t do that.”

Amid the ordeal and subsequent online scrutiny that she’s received over her alleged actions, Taylor has pushed forward with press for her debut on The Bachelorette on Sunday.

When asked about the allegations on GMA, Taylor said, “Honestly, it’s been a heavy time to see the headlines, especially during the time of the Bachelorette being released.

“It’s supposed to be an exciting time. I’m a person that always speaks her truth, that’s what I’m known for. When the time is right, I will be.”

According to Variety, “the investigation will not impact the release schedule or press plans for The Bachelorette.”

However, many fans have vowed to boycott the series, after sources claimed that Taylor and Dakota’s toddler son, Ever, was in the room during the alleged altercation, per The U.S. Sun’s exclusive report.

The source also claimed that Taylor’s co-stars refused to continue filming Season 5 of Mormon Wives after learning that her son was supposedly present during the alleged violent fight.

Taylor said on GMA that she doesn’t know when production of Mormon Wives will resume, and that her focus now is on The Bachelorette and her children.

Taylor also shares two children: Indy, 8, and Ocean, 5, with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.

The reality star got emotional on Season 4 of Mormon Wives, which dropped last week, while reflecting on her on-again off-again relationship with Dakota.

The former couple were thought to have broken up for good in December 2024, shortly before Taylor was cast on The Bachelorette.

However, she confessed to hooking up with Dakota the night before filming for the ABC dating show began.

She was recently spotted with her finalist from The Bachelorette per photos exclusively captured by The U.S. Sun, but it’s unclear if they are currently together.

Season 22 of The Bachelorette premieres on Sunday at 8:00pm EST/PST on ABC and is available to stream the next day on Hulu.
