Inside Mormon Wives execs’ crisis talks to resume filming after Taylor scandal and why another ‘toxic’ star WON’T return! “The cameras may be down… but the chaos definitely isn’t” — Mormon Wives bosses locked in frantic behind-the-scenes crisis talks as Taylor Frankie Paul’s scandal sends production into meltdown, forcing execs to weigh risky comeback plans, rewrite the show’s future on the fly, and quietly sideline one ‘toxic’ figure they now see as more liability than storyline… while insiders warn the hit series may never look the same again
THE CAMERAS might be down, but the drama is still reaching a boiling point behind the scenes of Hulu’s smash hit The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

With the Momtok crew in disarray, high-level executives are locked in with “crisis talks” to save the show following Taylor Frankie Paul’s legal nightmare, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been in turmoil since Taylor, 31, left a path of destruction over her complex domestic violence situation – which paused filming indefinitely.
Despite the massive scandal, Taylor’s time on the show may not be done for good, as the insider explained: “They don’t know in what capacity Taylor will film. But they think she will be involved to some degree.
“There’s talks she will be featured primarily in solo scenes so the audience can see what’s going on with her still.
“But a lot of her involvement will depend on the court’s decisions.
“The worse it is for her legally in the courtroom, the bigger the chance is she’d be reduced or fully removed from the show.”
However, on Tuesday, Taylor scored a massive legal win against ex Dakota Mortensen when Utah prosecutors chose not to file charges in her most recent domestic violence case.
She still faces future court hearings to determine whether or not she will gain back custody of her youngest child, whom she shares with Dakota.
Currently, her son, Ever, 2, is in the temporary custody of dad Dakota until an upcoming hearing date on April 30 determines how the co-parents will move forward. (Taylor now has eight hours of supervised visitation a week.)
Both Taylor and Dakota have active restraining orders against each other, further complicating the dynamic.
This domestic violence incident is separate from Taylor’s 2023 arrest, in which harrowing footage was captured of the drunken reality star hurling chairs and screaming at her ex while her young daughter was present in the room. (Taylor has daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul.)
The full footage from 2023 being publicly released for the first time in March 2026 is ultimately what led to Taylor’s Bachelorette season being canceled just three days before the highly-anticipated premiere.
A Hulu insider spilled that while the cameras are still currently down, fans may be graced with the return of the ladies from the soft-swinging suburbs of Utah sooner rather than later.
“They’re still not in production yet. Camera’s aren’t up but they are in constant talks with production and should be back to filming really soon.
“It could be any day now. The show is not dead, there’s no way. It will be coming back but it’s not clear when yet,” a production source claimed.
And if cameras do pick back up again, it seems the ice is finally starting to melt between Taylor and her fellow castmates after the mom of three’s legal woes.
“The cast is still weary of filming with her, it’s a messy situation for everyone so no one knows how to handle it,” the source admitted.
In March, it was reported that Mormon Wives production had abruptly halted due to Taylor’s latest domestic violence incident, which took place in February.
“But now that more time has passed and the girls have seen how rough things have gotten for Taylor, I think everyone is more sympathetic now.
“When production of the show paused, no one on the cast in a million years thought ABC would cancel her Bachelorette season.
“That was shocking to everyone and they don’t want Taylor to feel like she’s been left with nothing.
“So everyone is still hesitant to film with her but the door is more open now. It was locked shut before.”
However, while the door might be ajar for Taylor, it has apparently been slammed shut for her former flame, Dakota.
The “toxic” drama surrounding their volatile relationship has reportedly become too much for the production team to handle, leading to a ban for the controversial figure.
“No one even wants Dakota around to begin with, he just causes toxic drama.
“There is no way Dakota would be invited back to the show if Taylor is involved. Production already made that clear.”
The production hiatus comes after a series of explosive events that left the Momtok world reeling.
Filming was originally halted following Taylor’s alleged altercation with Dakota, which saw her initially facing domestic violence-related charges and possible prison time.
The fallout from the incident didn’t just affect her personal life; it sent the entire Hulu production into a tailspin as sponsors and network heads questioned the longevity of the series.
The drama was further intensified by her rocky relationship with Dakota, who has been a lightning rod for controversy since the show’s inception.
Their on-again, off-again dynamic was often cited by other cast members as a primary source of tension within the cast.
With Dakota now persona non grata, producers are hoping a streamlined focus on Taylor’s arc will be enough to get the cameras rolling again and keep the audience hooked on the scandalous lives of Mormon Wives.
