Whitney Leavitt is bringing part of her Utah culture to New York City.

The content creator and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star took to the SoHo streets on April 10, handing out free dirty sodas to a huge line of excited fans at Cool Sips, the New York dirty soda chain of which she is now Chief Creative and Brand Officer.

The reality TV personality told us what the first event for her executive role, which was announced in a release on April 8, meant to her.

“I just saw the line, it’s crazy. I was not expecting this many people,” she said. “It’s overwhelming, I’m excited. Dirty soda’s been a part of my culture and my life, so [I’m] excited to bring it to the big city!”

Leavitt’s multifaceted role for the company was on display at the event, which a representative told us was the star’s idea. She commissioned her husband, Conner Leavitt, to film a TikTok of her. She put on a Cool Sips hat and stepped behind the counter, snapping photos and chatting with fans.

Leavitt handed out free dirty soda to fans in New York City on April 10.

“Whitney has helped bring Dirty Sodas into the cultural mainstream, fueling a social-first movement that has driven real consumer demand,” said Cool Sips Founder Andrew Moger in the April 8 release, adding that her “creative instincts, entrepreneurial mindset and authentic passion for Dirty Sodas make her uniquely positioned to help build Cool Sips into a culturally relevant, highly recognizable and socially driven brand.”

Dirty sodas originated in Utah and typically contain soda, creamer and flavoring. They went viral after the debut of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Part of Leavitt’s role “will be actively leading creative direction and menu innovation, including developing new flavor combinations,” the release said, along with ““influencing everything from in-store experience to digital and social content.”

The Dancing with the Stars semifinalist told us that she “hasn’t thought of any too crazy combinations” yet, but she was “excited” for people to try The Whitney, the drink she created inspired by her own order.

“The Whitney” features club soda, sugar-free pineapple, sugar-free peach, sugar-free vanilla, lime syrup and raspberry puree.

Whitney Leavitt has smashed box office records as Roxie Hart in ‘Chicago’.

Leavitt recently moved with her family to New York City for her record-breaking run as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway, which has been extended following huge demand for tickets.

“My daughter’s seen the show, [and my kids] come backstage every once in a while,” she said. “They’ll say ‘hi’ during a two-show day in between my matinee and evening show.”

“They love New York,” she added. “They brag to their cousins about how they get to walk to school. They think it’s the coolest thing, I think it’s hilarious because we don’t have a car here.”

In terms of how the influencer, reality show star and Broadway entertainer makes it all work, she said, “balance is such to the individual. You got to figure out what your priorities are; your needs are going to be different than my needs.”

“But I have a great support system – I’ve got Conner over here behind the counter, ready to sell some dirty sodas,” she said, gesturing to her husband, who was suited up in a Cool Sips purple sweatshirt, “so I wouldn’t be able to do it without him.”

As for what comes next for the newly minted C-suite executive, Leavitt has a lot of ideas.

“I love film, I love television, but I also love being a part of businesses and brands like this,” she said. “I could just see that continuing, hopefully, continuing to grow and take off, and I just want to be a part of big things like this.”

But does Leavitt have a dream role?

“She does,” Conner replied from behind the Cool Sips counter.

But the content creator played things a little more closely to the vest.

“I have many,” Leavitt said. “I really want to dive into it, so I’m excited.”
