Taylor Frankie Paul is sharing a message following the results of a hearing regarding a temporary protective order filed by her ex, Dakota Mortensen.

Following the April 7 hearing, where a judge and guardian ad litem determined that the couple’s 2-year-old son Ever would remain in Mortensen’s custody with up to 8 hours per week of supervised visitation for Paul, the MomToker spoke out.

In an April 9 Instagram post, Paul thanked the people who have stood by her amid her legal troubles with Dakota.

“Nothing but gratitude for these gifts given by different people at different times that have been essential for me through this specific time,” Paul wrote in her caption.

In her post, the MomToker also shared photos, including one selfie of her crying in a car with white text over it that read, “It’s miraculous that every essential or reminder I’ve needed was given through people.”

Paul shared snaps of gifts and support she had received from people recently, including snaps of eye patches, supplements, care packages and flowers. “Thank you to every message, meal, gift, call, prayer, and support of any kind sent,” she wrote.

Paul continued her post, writing, “there is the human side of this and then it gets to a point of it being miraculous when you start to see it from a bigger lens🙏🏼.”

The April 7 hearing took place almost immediately after The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star filed for her own protective order against her ex on behalf of herself and Ever.

During the hearing, the presiding judge admitted to having “concerns both ways” when it came to determining the best course of action for the co-parents and their son. The judge ultimately came to the temporary decision of Mortensen being granted temporary custody for Ever with supervised visits for Paul — an arrangement that will last until a second hearing on April 30 to discuss competing protective orders filed by Paul and Mortensen.

The outcome of the upcoming hearing may result in a change in parent time for either or both parties.

Following the April 7 hearing, Mortensen’s attorney Joel Kittrell spoke out, saying that “Today’s hearing was used by the respondent to assassinate Dakota’s character as a dad, whose only concern is for the welfare of his son, Ever. We look forward to the 30th to tell the true story.”

Reps for Paul did not comment on the lawyer’s statement.

Paul’s April 7 protective order filing broke down an alleged “high number of instances of abuse and domestic violence (assault, harassment, and stalking) at Dakota’s hands.” In the filing, Paul named four specific, separate instances of alleged abuse by Mortensen, including one occurring on Feb. 23, in which Paul claims that Mortensen slammed her head against the dashboard of his truck.

The Draper City Police Department opened an investigation on Feb. 23 after Mortensen’s friend called to report that he was “the victim of a domestic violence assault by an ex-girlfriend at her Draper residence,” according to a police report obtained by PEOPLE.

The report adds that Mortensen later told police there were “two incidents of physical assault involving ‘grabbing, scratching, shoving, and striking,’ ” which also notes that police obtained photographs of Mortensen’s “neck scratches.”

A spokesperson for the department previously told us that “allegations have been made in both directions” during the investigation.

The West Jordan Police Department also confirmed in March that there was a separate “active domestic violence case” involving the pair.

A spokesperson said that Mortensen contacted police at the end of February and spoke to police in March for the investigation. The spokesperson also said that Mortensen had submitted a video, which police believe is dated “early-to-mid 2024.”

A sworn declaration from Paul attached to her protective order said, “Mine and Dakota’s relationship has been tumultuous, with several periods in which we have argued or outright broken up.”

Paul was previously arrested for alleged domestic violence in 2023 after an argument with Mortensen. According to a 2023 indictment obtained by PEOPLE, Paul was accused of throwing “heavy, metal chairs” at Mortensen, and her then-5-year-old daughter, Indy, was struck with a chair during the incident.

The indictment’s description matches a video of a 2023 incident involving Paul and Mortensen, which was released by TMZ on March 19, in which Paul can also be seen throwing chairs at Mortensen while Indy can be seen nearby.

Following the 2023 arrest, Paul was given misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child.

The momfluencer pled guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault following the charges, meaning that if she complied with the conditions of the plea, her charge would be lessened or potentially dismissed. The other charges were dismissed.

Neither reps for Paul nor Mortensen have commented on the ongoing investigations.

In the wake of Paul and Mortensen’s ongoing legal battle, multiple sources also confirmed in March that production had paused for the fifth season of Mormon Wives after Paul’s fellow cast members refused to film with her.
