đ¨Police Report!! New Details Emerge on What Led to Joseph Duggarâs Arrest in Shocking Case
New details have emerged on what led to 19 Kids and Counting star Joseph Duggarâs arrest.
On Wednesday, Mar. 18, Joseph, 31, was arrested and charged for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful s*xual activity with a minor.

Joseph made his first court appearance on Friday, Mar. 20. He did not enter a plea and waived his right to an extradition hearing, meaning he agreed to be transferred to Florida to face charges.
More details on what led to Josephâs arrest were revealed in an affidavit filed by the Bay County Sheriffâs Office and obtained by People.
According to the affidavit, Joseph confessed to molesting a 9-year-old girl in a phone call with the childâs father and a detective with the local police department.
BCSO Criminal Investigator Chase Norris writes in the document that he was told Joseph first confessed to molesting the minor while speaking with her father on Tuesday, Mar. 17.
Norris was told this information by a detective from the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas, and, according to the affidavit, Norris then ârequested the detective and victimâs father call the defendant.â
The affidavit states that Joseph âadmitted his actionsâ on the phone, saying âhe touched the victim over her clothing.â
Joseph also âadmitted his intentions were not pure.â

People reports that most of the details included in the affidavit are taken from a forensic interview with the alleged victim, who is now 14.
From the interview, Norris writes that he learned the âthe victimâs family traveled to Panama City Beachâ in 2020 for a vacation, where she reportedly encountered Joseph.
At the vacation home, Joseph allegedly âasked the victim to sit on his lap, numerous timesâ and âwould cradle the victim with his arms.â
Joseph then began to âask the victim to sit on the couchâ beside him, according to the affidavit.
Once the two were sat next to each other, the affidavit says Joseph âcovered the parties with a blanketâ before proceeding to âpull the victimâs dress upâ and inappropriately touch her.
The victim claims these incidents occurred on several occasions and âmade her feel uncomfortable and confused,â according to the affidavit.
Joseph is said to have âeventually approached the victim and apologized for his actions,â and the incidents reportedly stopped occurring after the apology.
On Mar. 20, police in Tontitown, Arkansas confirmed via a press release that theyâve filed new charges against Joseph and his wife Kendra Duggar.
The new charges in Arkansasâunrelated to the previous charges in Floridaâare four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
